LPC Supervisor and LPC Associates Meeting in Texas

Supervision for

LPC Associates in Texas

Good supervision can be such an anchor during the process toward licensure. As a supervisor, I value bringing my experience and compassion to my role. I love providing a safe environment for supervisees to deepen their clinical competence and take care of themselves both professionally and personally.

The journey to become a therapist is unquestionably rewarding, but it can also be…stressful, disorienting, frustrating, and lonely. Maybe you relate to feeling overwhelmed or scattered when sitting with clients. Maybe you’re interested in the idea of opening your own private practice, but the logistics feel daunting or unclear. Perhaps being a therapist is a second or third career, and you’re trying to embody this new role while also juggling many other responsibilities.

I supervise LPC associates throughout Texas and offer both in-person and virtual supervision meetings. It is an honor to mentor and support other therapists in their early careers, and I would be honored to meet you.

What Does My Supervision Offer?

There's so much that comes with being an LPC associate. You're trying to manage your caseload, accrue your hours, strengthen your theoretical modalities, and just feel more comfortable sitting and holding space with clients. There's a lot of responsibility in what you do!

In clinical supervision, my overarching goals are to offer you support in:

  • building more competence in your clinical skills and presence as a therapist

  • strengthening your understanding of theory and intervention

  • exploring complex cases or ethical concerns with clients

  • exploring your own emotional reactions or difficulties within this work

  • starting or maintaining a sustainable private practice

Private Practice Mentoring

Private practice can sometimes feel like this elusive dream, and that's particularly true for newer therapists. However, mentorship can bridge that gap between wanting and having. I am here to show you the ropes and offer guidance in building and marketing your business.

There's a lot to running a business, including upfront costs, branding, establishing your niche, determining fees, and networking. I know we aren’t taught these crucial skills in school, and many competent therapists struggle with their practices because they don’t know these principles.  Feeling supported as you navigate all these steps can be empowering, and my goal is to offer you the support you deserve as you move forward.

Deepening your Clinical Theory

We all learn the foundations of theories in graduate school, but they can feel hard to actually implement when working with clients. How many times have you sat with a client and thought to yourself, “Wait, what am I actually supposed to do here?” I get it! I know school only teaches you so much- the real learning comes with experience and strong mentorship.

I offer supervision in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy (SFT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and relational life therapy (RLT). If you resonate with one or more of these approaches, we will probably be a great fit!

Flexible Supervision Structures and Options

In Texas, LPC associates must receive at least 4 supervision hours per month, and at least half of those hours must be individual or triadic.

I offer both individual and triadic supervisory meetings and can accommodate both virtual and in-person preferences. With the virtual option, I can supervise associates residing anywhere within Texas.

Creative and collaborative supervision for LPC Associates in Texas
  • All supervision relationships are inherently unique, but I may be a good fit if you're seeking a supervisor who:

    • can challenge you, but also meet you with a sense of warmth and compassion

    • encourages your individuality and embraces your value system

    • has experience in a variety of clinical settings

    • is organized and efficient with time and planning

    • has ample experience working with couples, families, and children

    • is receptive to feedback (I will do my best to accommodate your needs and preferences!)

I very much enjoy working with motivated therapists seeking to grow their careers and expand their current ways of thinking. Most of my supervisees feel dedicated to their work and are proactive in their learning and training. Ideally, you take the work seriously but don't take yourself so seriously (it's a delicate balance!).

I also love working with therapists who previously worked in other careers. If this is you, I believe your lived experience has given you the resilience, flexibility, and empathy needed to make a great therapist. In supervision, we'll harness these strengths to help you feel more empowered in your new role as a clinician.

  • I know supervision can sometimes feel like a "necessary evil," but it doesn’t have to be that way!

You deserve good supervision! When it's effective, it becomes a critical part of your clinical development. You find yourself actually looking forward to meeting and growing! You feel like you're supported and carried through this important time in your career.

My approach to this relationship is collaborative and supportive—I want to help you feel grounded in your role as a therapist. You deserve the freedom to explore the parts of this work that feel uncertain or frustrating. You also deserve guidance to grow your skills and shape a successful practice that feels authentic to you.

If you're a Texas-based LPC associate looking for a supervisor who is collaborative and experienced, I'd love to connect with you!
